Introduction to clay hand-building techniques
Pinching, pressing, slab-building and coiling. £15
This 2 hour class allows you to 'play with clay,' and understand the feel of the material in a relaxed environment. You will be introduced to 4 different vessels making techniques. Once you have chosen a method to work with you will receive close guidance through-out the session. Your creations will be fired and be ready for your collection at an arranged time. At an extra £5 charge they will be glazed. Alternatively you can return to glaze your piece and experiment with different finishing techniques in the course below.

During the 2 hours you can create your own personalised items to say 'Congratulations' on an engagement or marriage, to 'Welcome' a new baby or just to say 'Thank You' to your family and friends. You will learn how to work with clay, cut out shapes and apply lettering, textures and colours to your pieces. Once dry they will be glazed in a clear glaze and fired for your collection at a later date.
Use textures, lettering, underglazes and pigments. £20
In this 2 hour class you will experiment with a variety of methods of making textures and finishes to create decorative effects in the clay. You will have the opportunity to apply colour with underglazes or pigments if chosen. These pieces will then be coated in a clear glaze for your collection at a later date. Alternatively this workshop can be used to follow the above course and you can decorate a vessel you have made.
